Adding Affirmations to your Life

What is your favorite affirmation?… Have you ever used an affirmation before?… Do you know what an affirmation is?

For those that are new to the world of affirmations, they can literally change your life! Affirmations are positive quotes, sayings, or thoughts that help uplift us. They help you change the way you think and subsequently the way you behave. They can be spiritual or not, doesn’t matter, what does matter is that they life you up!

Have you ever read a quote that made your heart smile? (yes, that is a real feeling! Think about the last time your heart smiled) For some of us, a particular phrase can simply resonate with our mind. An affirmation can help you see the bigger picture and remind you not to take things so seriously.

Affirmations can also help when you are stuck in a downward spiral toward depression. A positive phrase can lift your spirits and keep your mood elevated.

The thing is, you need to find affirmations that work for you! Simply reading the phrase “you are beautiful” and never believing it will do you no good. You need to find phrases that resonate with you, life maybe “your body is alive right now, and that is beautiful.”

to hold these affirmations and place them wherever you need them most. Maybe on your bathroom mirror, the office, your car – anywhere, really!

Have fun with it – remember, these are supposed to lift you up, not put you down! So avoid phrases like “Push harder”, or “you can always do better”. Try to find more positive phrases like “I have everything I need, and I am content” or “I am truly grateful for this beautiful life”.
