Cat Ekstrom has been teaching group exercise since 2015. She left her job in radio media and started in the fitness space by working the front desk at a YMCA. She was using this as a foot in the door she thought to get into personal training, but instead she got super intrigued by the music and fun happening from the group exercise studio near the membership desk. Every gym tour she led for potential members had her linger, listen, and watch that studio more closely. She took a leap and dived right in (after personally attending only one class).
One certification became two which became three, until she has gotten twenty fitness class certifications and licenses through the years (with no signs of stopping, 200 Yoga Teacher Training is coming soon).

As someone who got into fitness first at the age of 19 to lose weight with at home DVD’s for the physical aspect, to someone who got back into fitness through walking at the age of 25 for the mental health aspect, to someone who continues to stay in group exercise for the social aspect, she understands people’s variety of needs for stepping into a class either physically or virtually. Come in ready to sweat but leave with a smile.
